Jambo!
This blog, like my greeting, will be a little out of the ordinary but will still get the job done. I will type creatively and do what ever other tasks my teacher assigns because as a student, I am morally obligated to do so. I say morally obligated because I am a senior here and I have already been accepted to three out of five schools I've applied to, three for three so far. So because I already have school waiting for me beyond the walls of high school, I don't really have to do anything. But I have always been a good student with my mother keeping her hawk eyes on me from the Board of Education chair. Being a good student isn't my whole life though, thankfully. I work as a waitress in a burger joint, a lot, and I spend time with friends and my boyfriend Matt, not enough. I used to play volleyball practically 24/7, but that all changed when I had reconstructive ankle surgery and couldn't walk for two months. That was a big downer. But it gave me lots of time to think; time to get my priorities straight and see what I really wanted from highschool. After I regained some of my strength, I decided not to be on the volleyball team my senior year, one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make to this day. I also don't take anything for granted. I'm still lazy, but I never miss the opportunity to stretch my legs and walk around or get something for myself. I wasn't able to do that for at least two months. I run quite frequently now at the gym, and I have been in one of my best shapes, including all the years of volleyball. My biggest downfall became my greatest achievement. I got myself back in order and recollected my interests, another reason why I am taking this class. I love writing, but I never got the time to with my schoolwork and volleyball and friends and whatever else the day wanted to throw at me. So I have had to schedule writing into my day, but I still get to have the freedom I need as a writer. My hope for this blog is to share with you my thoughts, my ideas, the depths of my soul because that is what I plan to put on here. So as I have been trained to say at Lindburgers: Enjoy!
